Expressing the most important part of existence, what defines your worth, value, and character in life, perception. It's so amazing how someone can alter your perception with the right words of hope and encouragement, suddenly the fear of failure disappears and anything seems possible as you are walking anxious with many anticipations. That frown has been turned upside down.

Smiling and laughter are contagious. Love makes life worth living and happiness complete. We all need encouragement, so instead of being a stumbling block try being a support beam. Life should be measured not by what you do but how many lives you improved.

If I can make a positive difference in someone elses' life then I am happy to have contributed toward their legacy. Spreading your knowledge is a way of seeking immortality, so I'll see you in another life if not in this one.

I've played the role of both the other woman and the one waiting at home alone; just like any other, the sinner and the saint, the lady in the streets or closet freak. I'll live in the moment to decide. One thing that I have noted is that no one likes the "No Refund" policy so if you dont like sharing, offer up a buffet and forget moderation and add some spice with that variety.

If you do decide to share make sure you are getting the full serving not sloppy seconds. Two wrongs might make you want to rethink strategy but for those of us that have been there, done that, we kindly tune out the static and reminisce on other peoples notebook stories.

Letoya Luckett says it best with her remix of " Regret" featuring Ludacris, which couldn't have been better timing than now with Ludacris embarking on his Battle of the Sexes tour and album release. Letoya is looking lovely and even better is Luda offering his take on appreciating what some other man may have taken for granted.

I think the new collaboration between man and female among HipHop and R&B is a beautiful thing not only for record sales but also for the morale. Who remembers when Sparkle and R. Kelly did their duet along with Avant & Kiki, better yet alot of folks forget about the wonderful collaboration Jay Z did with Foxy Brown, Lil Kim with Notorious BIG, or Trina & Trick Daddy. It's good seeing the battle of the sexes retreat from their toxic vices and find harmony in each others voices.

Definition of a Hater:

I’ve always wondered what defines or classifies a Hater, is it those that envy you, a person in your own family, someone in your inner circle of friends, the strangers up the street or, someone you use to date? Now, I think it’s anyone that falls into the category of being greedy and not wanting to see you evolve into your full potential as a person. If you have a nation full of leaders the competition to outshine your fellow brethren is one that has to be earned and like all good things acquired in life that are worth owning it takes hard work to obtain. Just as easy as it comes, it goes. Maybe that’s why they say “they just don’t make’em like they use to.

Evolution is a part of the human existence whether you want to debate its origins, everything evolves around us from ecosystems, levels within the social classes, craft of a trade, to the skill of an Artist. It is no phenonemoum that the more money you make, different places you explore outside of your comfort zone, you go through some changes (evolve). Unfortunately some will say money is the root of all evil, it’s not the money, it’s the motive in which you get it and spend it. Riches don’t make the problems go away they just make them easier to deal with, depending on where you go.

For me the FEDs, subprime rates, misleading credit card companies, CEO’s of gas companies, prejudice juries/DA, corporate bankers, and the welfare system are the graduated HATERS, trying to keep or trap others into a vicious cycle of poverty, probation-prison, and turning one another against eachother for stake on what limited resources everyone is out to get.

Forget putting the blame on the drug dealers or illegal immigrants, and any other politically incorrect source for all the ills of the world. Like all bad things, they start out petty then proceeds to engulf you like cancer affecting everything along the path, but to be fair I have never met a bad drug dealer, or lazy illegal immigrant. Grant it bad drug dealers and lazy illegal immigrants do exist, I have been lucky to never meet one.

A drug dealer simply supplies the demand just like the corner store pharmacy that my doctor sent me to for that hydrochloride. Of course because the drug dealer doesn’t have an M.D., it must be poison the drug dealer is supplying because there is no consequence if he sells you something bad that’s been stepped on. When does the junkie take some blame for not having moderation to say, NO.?

I won’t elaborate on the illegal immigration issue because there is so much corruption in it and it’s all based on cheap labor for higher profits.

Just remember the next time you want to hate on someone, don’t hate them, hate the situation you’re finding yourself in. We are all inhabitants of this world, it’s just a matter of some succeeding and accomplishing more than others with limited resources, there is not enough to go all around. It is survival of the fittest, and even then it’s who you know and not always what you know, because the “truth” isn’t always pretty and a force many do not want to reckon with.

Democracy

Its a free democracy, if you want to inject yourself with drugs, binge drink , torture your body, even commit suicide, you can not do so. Even if it doesn't infringe or offend someone else, our laws are here to keep and establish order in our neighbor, family and places of mass gatherings. Complain all you want about the laws after all you didn't have any part nor interest in deciding nor drafting them. Instead of being a part of the solution, we dramatize the problem, thanks to the reporters for distorting the truth. I don't blame media nor technology, I blame the reporter and the man behind the story. Authority figures were put in place to keep order and protect, even though that authority may have some seeing in a utilitarian way. You need a chief among a crowd of barbarians. The wonderful thing about America is just when you think no one cares about you, Big Brother taps you on the shoulder in the form of the laws, police officer, DEA agent, IRS, child protective services, welfare, financial aide, FEMA, Social Security, Medicaid, to let you know, they do care.
Some feel they do more than their duty by paying taxes, praying for the sinner, doing volunteer, giving to Goodwill, attending council meetings, but we all know the EGO that lurks from within that doesn't do something without expecting acknowledgement or rewards for our efforts. Let our efforts go unappreciated, and we will be quick to withdraw all remorse and show you how unworthy you are.
Perhaps that is why the Minute Men whom feel it necessary to exercise their right to bear arms and monitor the borders, feel it is their duty to take the law into their own hands. Their intentions are sincere but so are those trying to cross the border. Through out history, all great societies have gone to war to preserve their resources and clout. We rise as a great nation, but we fall humble just like the third world when the shortage of our energy supply threatens us, just as those less educated, less civilized threaten our existence by infiltrating our schools, jobs, and neighborhoods. To understand one another, we have to abandon the comfort zone of our own ideology's, something not easy. I love America and everything it stands for; when you accept something you take the good, the bad, and the ugly.

See for me, as a minority, I always thought it was a white mans world. I will play my role as second class citizen, just as those before me, do the best and hope for a better future for those after me.
Reality check. I am afraid to have children in this type of world and just as the civil activist that marched before my time in hopes of a better future for their children, my time for change is now. But change is a gradual process and you don't move mountains in days nor months, maybe not even years.
If I choose to label myself as different, automatically bringing objectivity into a situation then I am going to encounter just that. That you and I are different, we may have a common agreement or not, but what really matters is what I got from the interaction with you. I'm lucky to get any interaction considering the high alert of suspicion, just talking to strangers might be an invitation to danger, but it could also be the start of a beautiful relationship.

I sure hope our relationship will not be one based solely on ur needs and wants. U call and I run to you and then your nowhere to be heard or found the moment my heart starts to wonder and my thoughts ponder. Such a foolish girl I am to believe u can only love me. Its okay.. I'll forgive you if you promise to ignite that lost fire that burned so bright many moons before you. Sacred is the man that cherishes my existence. For to love me, is to accept me and all the flaws I possess. and to honor and obey you is to understand you need ur ego stroked from time to time along with all the body parts that excite your mind.

Flying thru space with a cape wrapped around my neck and no name tatted on my chest. Superman aint no place to be found, so I call my girl to see if she wants to have some fun tonite, cuz its been awhile since we had a girls night out, meeting of the minds and souls. Settled into my cube, got a cup of coffee, so I could sit and rehearse my "to do" list. Fastforward, its half past seven, time to disrupt my cerebral cortext and kiss me thru the screen and make me scream. If your game lacks loyalty forget about ever laying with royalty. Im not lost in translation just chose to journey past adolescence. I see your arrogance but it doesnt faze me, cuz I only mess with the best and you are everything like the rest

The Story of Victoria & Calvin

Have you ever saw someone across the room that reminded you of a love you once knew, a crush you never got to materialize? If after initial glances are exchanged and introductions made, you find yourself calling out someone else's name other than the person you just met. you know Victoria & Calvin all to well. Through out the night he kept pronouncing my name as Victoria, at first I thought it was a pronunciation glitch, but then I realized that I found myself addressing him by another familiar name to me, Calvin. His familiar features were comforting yet he was a complete enigma to me. He only tells me what he wants me to know. Fun was on the agenda but boundaries had to be set if I am to make a lasting impression of our meeting.

You know the one thing that has always bothered me about the validation and seeking approval thing is I have always been with someone that I felt was smarter, more secured and established than me because I wanted to learn from that, being that I believe you are a product of your environment and its influencing factors, but all the time I always secretly felt a sense of inferiority. I always wondered why we couldn't share a political, career, and ideology conversation, it was always sexual, domestic or vanity. I wondered if it was because you thought me not to be on your intellect level even though you always praised me on my smarts and quick wits. Now, that we are fighting all you want to do is put me down, which is normal, but along with those spiteful words comes some of the truth. Truth of how you feel about me, that's cool, vent. Your words stab my heart and reverberate in my thoughts, but unlike you I vent and I'm over it within two minutes later , maybe because I know dwelling is too time consuming and I or you will always be wanting to outshine the other. I'm accepting my failures and no longer living in denial, but see its not easy to see clearly when all my life I built facades and fantasies of what my life should be or I wanted it to be, instead of accepting what it really is. Alcohol and weed my choice of vice and disillusionment along with sex, never help the equation only provide temperamental escape or distortion. Fuck you, for wasting my time. Some say don't hate the player, hate the game, thing is, I never asked to play the game... its just part of life I suppose. Maybe that is why I cant seem to get along with anyone. I don't like playing games, I'm just here to make the best I can out of any situation I am in. I never finished my degree because I didn't want to sacrifice. Sacrifice is inevitable one way or the other, you pay now, or you pay later:) Nothing in life comes with out consequence, you are either rewarded or shit on by every thing that you come across. Oh, well, the world doesn't stop evolving, so why should I.

Getting familiar never sounded better than when it came from Boston native, Clinton Sparks. The man has tons of enthusiasm for life overflowing with positive energy with his daily affirmations. Clinton Sparks first caught WhoUFeelin's eye in the summer of 07 with the song he produced and co wrote for Akon, "Sorry, Blame it on Me" Then again in the summer of 08 with his mixtape project with Kardinal Offishall, Do The Right Thing, ever since then WhoUFeelin has been getting familiar.

There are few DJs that have that genuine personality that make you feel like you individually can be a part of their movement if you choose to be, I guess that is why WhoUFeelin is huge fan of Clinton Sparks. It's like Clinton Spark's mission is to work on a new project everyday, the man is the definition of hard work, look it up. He's all over the place when he is not in Vegas being featured at Body English in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, he is on Smashtime Radio, associated with Pepsi DJ Division, posting videos on Vimeo.com/clintonsparks, doing mixtapes, writing a blog, making guest appearance on E! for the Daily 10 or endorsing Ciroc vodka.

Overseas he has joined forces with friend DJ Snake from Paris, France, to form a group called "Logan De Gaulle" which is a dance/electro production, so far they have produced for Lisa Lisa and Tyrese who are releasing their own separate albums. An anticipated mixtape project with Armando Perez aka Pitbull is in the works, so far "Shut It Down" was linked.

How is it possible for a man to sleep and accomplish all he is currently doing. I get dizzy just thinking about how busy he is, no wonder he apologizes in advance. If the youth is looking for a role model, I couldn't think of a better example of hard work, ambition and motivation. Crazy Hood Garcia

Happy being able to follow his dreams Garcia offers the following advice "If you get into music for any other reason other than the love of hip hop culture, stop. Don't get into a respected genre of music for the pursuit of riches and discredit what others have worked so hard to accomplish." With a lawyer by his side and Crazy Hoods Productions in his crew, he leaves the business matters to friend and business partner DJ EFN so that he can focus on making good music and being a father to his daughter. If you were to read his eulogy he would hope it would say "First, I was a good father, second, I was a man who dared to dream. Those are the most important things in life to me. Nothing else matters. I could die broke and happy as long as I have the love of my daughter and knowing that I followed every dream I ever had. "

In 2005, after years of hard work and perseverance, things finally began to spring board for Garcia's dream to work with the artist he had grown up admiring. Originally known in Kendall, FL as Gambit, Garcia changed his name to rep his last name and Latin roots. Venturing away from SOUTHBEAT,whom he was signed to at the time, he and friend DJ EFN were trying to push vinyl on DJ KHALED. Relentless, he approached the Diaz Brothers with an old school hip hop sample Planet Rock, again handed to DJ KHALED he later gets a call from DJ KHALED asking him to come into the station. "Clap Your Hands" was being put on rotation, played 15 times within an hour.

The wheels were in motion, featured on MTV's MY Block, TLC's Miami Ink, URB Magazine, UPN's face for urban marketing within local Miami, Garcia was living out his dreams. Labels were approaching but the deals weren't working in his favor nor was he willing to leave his family Crazy Hood off the contracts, so he decided to remain with Crazy Hood and further the underground movement. Even if he doesn't get the credit, Garcia is fine with it because he's proved to himself first that he's accomplished all he set out to do.

Remaining on his grind, Garcia is anxious to work again with his longtime friend and mentor, Nick Fury, who produced Garcia's first album Antisocial. Nick and Garcia go way back to 1995.

Currently, putting the finishing touches to his mixtape "Back From The Dead", to be released in two weeks. WhoUFeelin asks Garcia in which direction he is going with his upcoming album

WhoUFeelin: Does It really come down to not knowing the right people? You once mentioned "its all dubbed out shit, nobody listens to good music anymore", How do you feel about the DOA statement?

GarciaCHP: I don't hate autotune...It can come off right when used in the right situations. It just got to the point that originality went out the window when everybody jumped on the bandwagon and over exploited the sound. But what can I say? I can't hate the game only the player. As far as knowing the right people of course that's important. But without talent eventually the people will cast you out.

WhoUFeelin: On a typical day in Miami, you can be found?

GarciaCHP: All over..I'm constantly on the street hustling..I get my grind on for real.

WhoUFeelin: Who do you associate yourself with?

GarciaCHP: Anybody who is true to their craft . My main squad is and has always been Crazy Hood Productions. That's my family and they are responsible for making me who I am today. Another crew I show much respect to from the 305 is MayDay (www.myspace.com/firstdayofmay). We came up in the same era and the music in my opinion is untouchable. Also, my friend Nick Fury.

WhoUFeelin: Who are some artist/producers you would like to work with?

GarciaCHP: I have been asked this repeatedly and one artist never changes, Andre 3000. As far as producers I would like to work with Danger Mouse, I love what he did with both Gnarls projects. A dream artist to work with would be Beth Gibbsons of Portishead.

WhoUFeelin: You were a guest on TLC's Miami Ink, what did you get a tattoo of?

GarciaCHP:That was a tattoo of the cover of my first album Antisocial. I got about 14 tattoos now and counting.

Garcia prides himself in staying diverse, lyrically speaking on things effecting many artist. Choze 2 b Different with Johnny Martian

After hearing Tru Quality and selecting "Weekend Lover" for the Myspace playlist, Whoufeelin stumbled across Choze and the rest is history in the making.

While Portland, Oregon, is filled with talented hip hop artists, it has also been known as a city that’s difficult to break out of, especially for musicians seeking more national and international attention. But in the last few years there has been a growing hip hop movement of young rappers and producers trying to make their niche in the nation-wide music scene. One of the central players in this movement is Choze, a young rap artist seeking to be one of the best in Portland and to bring more attention and focus to the talent in this city. His mission is both personal and altruistic, and the barriers that musicians face in this region only fuel Choze to push his own music and the larger music scene.

Drake, Among HipHop Royalty

After hearing Cash Money and Drake in the same sentence, WhoUFeelin began to ask "who is this guy from Canada creating such a buzz but also being shown love from the West Coast to the South and all the way up through the East Coast. Not only can he act, but he can also sing and rap. A triple threat some are saying while others are discussing his associations to HipHop royalty and CoverGirl beauties.

Soon, http://www.bossip.com/ was asking the same question and quoting the Queen of HipHop, Mary J. Blige, and why she was feelin Drake. If the Queen of HipHop is giving Drake props, he must be worth of WhoUFeelin. Drake is lyrically skilled in choosing his vocabulary carefully as he spits a verse over a chorus he himself is singing on.

Quoting Drake from his BET Awards after party appearance on BET, "I'm always looking for a better way to say something, my mother was clever in instilling me with that curiosity" Drake is definitely easy on the eyes for the lady fans but he is also artistically talented in versing a track for the fellas. Sure enough, three weeks or so WhoUFeelin is having a conversation with K-Day legend, Julio G, who happens to be in the city for Unite The Mic tour and he states "Drake, is who I'm feelin, I like that he's not all tatted up. HipHop needs that, it can't be all thugged out".

Suddenly, WhoUFeelin recalls a quote from local artist, Zeale, www.myspace.com/zeale32, "Smart is the new Gangster."

It is clear as night and day, WhoUFeelin is feelin what everybody else is saying by HipHop needs a saviour. HipHop needs to be on socially conscious level and not just conspicuous consumption.

Before, Unite the Mic Tour I never knew of Westside Radio much less Julio G, but now thanks to being on tour with front man, B-Real www.myspace.com/brealonline who is promoting his solo album, Smoking Mirrors, I can't stop from googling the knowledge Julio G speaks. After reading the following interview responses from Julio G on www.laweekly.com/2005-12-08/music/julio-g-is-for-real/, I assure you aspiring DJs if you listen up and not forget the lesson you might someday get the respect and peace of mind for being a trendsetter and not just another DJ after some hype. It is true, in the end money makes the world go around, but it can never buy you love in the streets. After a three-year hiatus from radio, KDAY’s hardcore son comes home. “I’m gonna fuck ’em up on the turntables, Eazy-E style!” says KDAY DJ Julio G off the air, with a mischievous grin and trademark laugh. It’s Friday, and the late Eazy-E’s 21-year-old son, Eric “Lil’ Eazy-E” Wright Jr. — wearing a huge medallion of his father’s likeness around his neck — is in the studio to promote his upcoming album Prince of Compton. Tonight, Julio’s West Coast gangsta rap program Westside Radio — which usually bumps South L.A. artists like King Tee, Kam and MC Eiht, along with Pomona’s Above the Law — is now Ruthless Radio: all Ruthless Records, all night. (Ruthless is the label Eazy-E founded and ran until his death 10 years ago.) As Bone Thugs-N-Harmony’s “Tha Crossroads” plays in the background, one of hip-hop’s fiercest lyricists, N.W.A protege the D.O.C. (a.k.a. Tracy Curry) calls in, raspy voice and all, proclaiming: “I’m not through with the West Coast yet!”Neither is Julio G., who ended his three-year hiatus from radio and came back home — to the new KDAY 93.5 — just about a year ago.

To understand Julio and his hardcore following, you have to go to Imperial Highway and Long Beach Boulevard, in the southeast city of Lynwood. Back in the ’70s, Lynwood was mostly black, and it was there that Julio Gonzalez, half Mexican/half Puerto Rican, grew up double-riding his best friend Marcellus, who was black, on the handlebars of his bike, blasting Zapp.

One day Julio walked into Marcellus’ uncle’s garage and saw what would change his life: “Marcellus had a turntable that he took out of his mom’s stereo thing,” he says, “a Radio Shack mixer and another whole opposite turntable with all these wires all connecting, all on his uncle’s pool table. Marcellus scratched ‘Sucker MC’s’ by Run-D.M.C. That was the first time I had ever seen that. I’ll never forget that: I wanted to be a DJ.”

So Julio got his mom’s consola, one of those old-school Mexican stereos with an 8-track player, and began deejaying. “The first records I ever scratched were Javier Solas and Vicente Fernandez” — straight ranchera music, the kind nobody would ever think of mixing. “All I could do was scratch on one thing, because there was no fader or mixer, just a fucked-up turntable and whatever sounds I could get from Vicente Fernandez.”

He would practice every morning before school when his mother went off to work.Living in Lynwood got a little tough because it had a real gang situation. Soon he and Marcellus were getting chased and jumped, so they started ditching school in order to avoid getting fucked with. When things got more serious, Julio’s mother decided to move him to South Gate High.

A Puerto Rican guy from New York named Papo lived on Julio’s block, and he’d get tapes of New York rappers like the Furious Four and the Treacherous Three. Julio listened, and soon got hooked on hip-hop — and the only hip-hop station in town, KDAY, 1580 AM. KDAY was the nation’s first rap station, before corporate America got its greedy hands on the scene, and it had a group of DJs called the Mixmasters. Not only was Tony G. (Cuban Tony Gonzalez) the lone Latino DJ on KDAY, but, says Julio, he was “the best of the best.”“I wanted to be part of KDAY.

I’d listen to Tony G., and I would tape the shit. I would try to duplicate what they were doing with my little turntable; that was my way of learning.”At South Gate, Julio connected with brothers Mellow Man Ace and Sen Dog and their friend B-Real, then known as DVX (Devastating Vocal Xcellence). “I would DJ and they’d rap,” he says. They’d play at parties in South Gate, Bell, Maywood, all over Southeast L.A. (The buzz would later lead Mellow Man Ace to bust out solo with the hit “MentÃrosa,” co-produced by Julio G. and Tony G.)

Meanwhile, B-Real and Sen Dog started up the popular skunky-bud-smoking rap group Cypress Hill. Party promoter and friend Luis Romo, whose brother had gone to school with Tony G., took Julio to KDAY. As Julio recalls, Luis introduced him to Tony G. like so: “My homeboy right here will fuck you up, Tony.” Julio was stunned. “Ah, no no no — I knew he was a legend. I was 17, so when I got on the turntables, I was really nervous. Then Tony got on the turntables and just fucked me up. That was my first lesson.”Tony and Julio clicked; Tony took Julio under his wing and showed him how to mark records and other DJ tricks. In September of 1986, a few months after he graduated from South Gate High, Julio became a KDAY Mixmaster, deejaying on Saturday nights and joining guys like Joe Cooley.

Julio was now the only other Latino at KDAY. Deejaying with his idol, Tony G., he helped break hip-hop in Los Angeles. Back in 1986, KDAY hosted Friday Night Live– a show broadcast live from some local spot — and one week they happened to be at a Bell High School dance, where rapper Roxanne Shante and Bobby Brown — yes, that Bobby Brown — were dancing on a makeshift stage made of lunch benches. But that wouldn’t be the highlight of the night. While Julio was deejaying, he felt a tug on his shirt. “This little dude pulls my shirt while I’m on the air — ‘Hey man, I want you to check this album out!’ He pulls my shirt again. ‘You need to check out my record, man!’ And I’m thinking, what is this little Crip nigga doing in a Bell High School dance?”

Julio played a verse of the song: “Cruising down the street in my six four.” The song turned out to be “Boyz-N-The Hood,” and that little dude was Eric “Eazy-E” Wright. He broke that album before anyone knew what was about to hit them.The two went in different directions, Eazy blowing up with N.W.A and Julio deejaying and, again with Tony G., co-producing Latin acts like Kid Frost and his hit “La Raza.” Eazy would later return the favor, “pulling me out of the woodwork,” says Julio. On July 4, 1994, at an event called Big Top Locos at the Olympic Auditorium, with headlining band Rage Against the Machine, Eazy and co-host Julio G. premiered their short-lived radio show, Ruthless Radio (which ran on 92.3 The BEAT).

Julio and Eazy became best of friends. “He spent his last year with us at the G-Spot [Tony and Julio’s studio] in El Monte,” Julio says. “I remember one time I came into the studio and without them knowing I was in the room. I see Eazy on the floor, on his knees, with my daughter Dominique coloring a coloring book he had just bought her.

Moments like that, that’s what really made me love him.” It was in the next few months that Eazy started feeling ill. “I remember he told me he was sick, but he always had bronchitis; it wasn’t like I could say, ‘He’s gonna die,’” says Julio, who held down the show while Eazy was in the hospital. But things quickly got worse. “I remember his last words to me were, ‘Do what you gotta do, Julio.’” On March 26, 1995, at the age of 31, Eazy-E died of AIDS-related pneumonia. When he passed on, Julio did what he had to do and kept what became the Mixmaster show going, eventually changing the name and hosting Westside Radio on The BEAT.

When the ownership of that station changed hands in 2001, he decided he was ready to quit. He returned last year, he says, because “I had to keep it going. It’s what Eazy would have wanted.” “Julio fuckin’ G!Are you kiddin’ me?” says a female caller who can’t believe she’s on the phone with Julio G. But Julio is for real. He answers every single call, no intern, no Hollywood bullshit.

“The reason I answer every call,” he says, “is that when Marcellus and I were calling this radio station trying to request ‘For Those Who Like To Groove’ by Ray Parker Jr., we’d be waiting to get through and it was busy. Finally we get through — ‘Yo, yo man you got to play this song, you need to play this song, we’re trying to get it on tape’ — but the song never came on, even though it took us about three and a half hours to get through. So when I got on the radio I never forgot that. It was always something real personal to me. I always think there’s a kid who wants to get through.”

Yes, this radio rap game matters to Julio G. “I have a responsibility, to make a change with music, to inspire Latino kids,” he says. “I’m really an activist for the community and KDAY. This is some independent shit — a community station, for the community.” He then pauses and looks out to the streets. “I’m trying to do something positive,” he says. “I need to move the West Coast forward. ’Cause the hood is beautiful.”?

Both women have lived the perceived lifestyle of dating a V.I.P entertainer. Despite, the ridicule and rumors they have stood by their high profile relationships. At first sight, I thought the show was going to be another reality show on how many Louis Vuitton bags a girl could have, but to my surprise, Tiny and Toya begin to deal with family matters, visiting their parents, and talking to their daughters about first love.

Here's my two sense, even if nobody asked. The whole drama with Rhianna and Chris Brown is tired out. At first, it made for some good gossip but now its time to move on. Everyone needs to stop frontin, acting as if they themselves have had no past indiscretions. Anyone that has ever been in love and kicked to the curb knows provoking words are exchanged and unfortantely our emotions and anger gets the best of us, so we react and vent. Of course, its never a productive response or excuse, but seriously when you've been deceived in love or heartbroken, wanting vengence is the rational comfort you seek to mend that dagger in the heart and cast it to your opponeant.

People, please, stop worrying about whose loving who and cheating on who because matters of the heart are meant to be between two people not four or six. I wish Rhianna the best and Chris Brown some ease of mind from all this madness. I'm sure, haters everywhere toasted with the hateraid. But on a serious note, ladies if you gonna creep with a player have some sense to not be texting him when he's with his girl/wife. That only causes problems, and whoever it was texting Chris should have already known that his girl is going to go thru his phone, even if its wrong.
Word to the wise, if you go looking for drama or your man to be cheating, careful, cuz you just might find it.

Really, it is unfortunate that a private matter became public and it is part of the package when you are in the spotlight, like O'Shea Jackson says "You cant miss a target in the spotlight"
In my opinion, regardless if you are a man or woman, you put your hands on someone, then be prepared for a smack down. Yes, Ive been on the provoking end and got it, I couldn't be mad, shocked I was, but hey, just like I put my hands on him, he had the right to defend himself. Its just sad, cuz once you cross that line, you have to reevaluate the situation and decide to put it behind you or put each other in the past.

Enough, already, with the drama of whose fault it is.

True Colors

What started out as a good time in the ATX, on a Thursday night for The Gathering turned sour when a couple of disrespectful folks from out of town claiming to have luv for Austin,TX started snatching microphones from event coordinators and local artist on stage, in two separate incidents of the night.

Not trying to put anyone in particular on blast, there was no love nor loyalty among those that put on for the city, whether it was for fear of catching a case, or getting hit in the face. Violence is not a common thing around Austin shows, usually people don't go into a show expecting something to pop off especially when its about promoting and showcasing talent. Question to the perpetrators : How are you going to do a show and be disrespectful to the individuals that allow you to get your shine? Those in attendance know who you are.

I will not mention names because this post is not to go around with the he said, she said. All I will say is the watchful eye and good Samaritan efforts of AR15 assisted while "so called" friends were watching from the sidelines as their partner was taking head shots from two or three dudes. After inhaling pepper spray from the police presence, which they had no other choice while trying to restore order, Whoufeelin was able to make an exit without being physically hurt, though I lost a shoe in all the diversion of being shoved.

A lot of fake individuals were outside claiming to be down to represent and have one another's back, but when push came to shove up in the club, everyone was for themselves. To think Whoufeelin was in attendance to show support and do a write up on the enthusiasm of the local scene, Im now annoyed by the bad choices a few made to ruin the moment and set in bad emotions.

Know your friends, and whose got your back. I'm just thankful no one followed through with the claim of pulling out a gun and shooting someone. Shout out to DJ Notion, DJ Grip, DJ WoodyWood, Crew 54, Pimpin Pen, Young Mexicans on the Rise, Lil J of COD, and all the lovely ladies that were kind enough to pose before all the madness ensued.

Suggestions for future shows: have security ready should something pops off, track lights to spotlight on the artist while they are on stage. Keep random individuals from jumping on stage. Why the hell should individuals be on stage for 4 songs and its not even their show, NEXT.

Crunk highlight for me was when Ice Cube performed Trick Trick's "Let It Fly" produced by

Lil Jon". WC and Ice Cube sharing the stage with DJ Crazy Toones, www.myspace.com/djcrazytoones was a site to see for someone like me, relatively amateur to old school rap tours.

Ice Cube gave a great performance but more importantly while being on tour, relating with the fans, he now has a few more fans because of his hospitality, talent, and stage presence. I witnessed him sign many memorabilia items from his past projects. Lench Mob Records ( founded in 1994 by Ice Cube but revived in 2006 with his management company, The Firm, which distributes Bigg Swag Records home to WC www.myspace.com/wc, Dj Crazy Toones and Tha Trapp) was circulating around the venue sharing laughs and daps, nothing but lub, motivation, and inspiration.

Ice Cube is a very genuine person on a personal level, I saw many fans amazed at just how humble and laid back he was. A very rare commodity with diva type artist, making request from the promoters. No Justice for David Morales

A guilty man walks free instead of to prison after being acquitted of manslaughter charges downgraded to aggravated assault, which carry a 20 year sentence the same as manslaughter. The jury recommends 10 years probation for Kurtiss Colvin who has been serving time in Travis County jail since July 2007 for a state jail felony charge of theft from a person. After causing bodily harm to his victim, Kurtiss Colvin took his victim’s wallet and used the money inside. Now, he sits in the courthouse trying to convince the public eye he is remorseful and shouldn’t serve anymore time for a crime according to him, he didn’t commit. Despite the fact that his intended victim, David Morales, is lying in a 6ft grave, decomposing, and now a memory of senseless crime; a Travis county jury handed down a verdict for Kurttis Colvin, 22 & Samuel Byrd, 16, who received eight years probation, that spits on the face of humanity and those aiding in the defense of the helpless and outnumbered. Kurtiss Colvin and Samuel Byrd still able to breathe see their loved ones and live their life with aspirations while David Morales’s family resides near the crime scene where their brother was brutally murdered.

On Junteenth 2007, a scene of racism, poverty, disorganized police protection, resulted to the injustices served to David Morales’s life here on earth. It’s a sad day. Murders and instigators of a heinous crime on another man are being characterized as co defendants protecting themselves. It’s amazing how the truth is distorted to justify the motives of those involved. More than two dozen people witnessed the crime, yet no one stepped in to aid David Morales. A hero could have emerged but instead cowards stood in awe.

May God have mercy on our souls. Let this incident serve as precedent that a man’s hands can be used as a deadly weapon, the combination of alcohol, egoism, and slander of ethnicity result in tragedy. Regardless of race, there are good and bad people. It’s unfortunate that LULAC and other self proclaimed Hispanic/Latin American/Mexican organizations are not at the defense and uproar of injustices surrounding the investigation and punishment of this incident in Austin, Texas, Travis County.

Travis Co. District Attorney’s office did NOT do their job in persuading a jury to set an example of this incident and I wonder should another “riot” break out, will APD have an entry/exit strategy, one that does not interfere with relatives or bystanders willing and able to assist victims to be able to do so, instead of standing on the sidelines watching in horror as a man dies in front of them?

In history, there are martyrs that serve as an example for future generations, many at the expense of their own life. David Morales served as a martyr on June 19, 2007 in East Austin. You will always be remembered, David Morales.

AUSTIN -- Lazaro Perez-Ramos was held in jail without charges, then after winning approval for his release, he had to stay an extra year because there was no place for him to go.
When Cuban refugee Lázaro Pérez-Ramos finally walked out of the Bastrop County Jail, he lived on the streets of Austin. When he died of lung cancer Nov. 13, his lawyer arranged to bury him in a pauper's grave. He was 59.

"He was suffering, and he was lonely,'' lawyer D'Ann Johnson said.
Johnson and her partner were the only ones at Pérez-Ramos' funeral. His friends could not come because they, too, were being held without charges in the Bastrop jail.
They are Cuban refugees who, along with Pérez-Ramos, were part of the 1980 exodus from the Cuban port of Mariel that brought 125,000 Cubans to the United States.
Many of those who, like Pérez-Ramos, broke the law in the United States ended up in a legal never-never land with almost no way out.

The Bastrop County Jail holds seven detained Cubans.
They have been convicted in the United States and have served their sentences, but they remain in indefinite detention. The United States does not want them but will not release them. Their native land does not want them back.

Like all aliens convicted of felonies, they have received deportation orders. They cannot be deported, however, because Cuba and the United States have no full diplomatic relations.
"With a criminal sentence, even if you don't have good-time credit, you have a flat sentence, so you know the absolute day you will get out. But with this, there is no light at the end of the tunnel,'' Johnson said.

"There's nothing to keep those guys from going into a black hole.''
Citing privacy rules, the Immigration and Naturalization Service declined to disclose the names or criminal records of the Cuban detainees in the Bastrop jail or other Texas facilities.
"These guys are on immigration detention, and the U.S. government tries to keep people away from them so nobody knows,'' Johnson said.

More than 120 Cubans are being held in indefinite detention in Texas, immigration officials said. Throughout the nation, about 1,700 remain in indefinite detention, said Denton Lankford, an immigration service spokesman.

The Mariel Cubans have been a problem for the United States since they arrived. Incarcerated Cubans rioted at several prisons in the 1980s. When hundreds of refugees held at Fort Chafee, Ark., rioted in June 1980, Gov. Bill Clinton sent the National Guard. He was criticized for waiting too long and lost a reelection bid.

More recently, Cuban detainees held guards hostage at a Louisiana prison for six days in December 1999.

In a way, Pérez-Ramos was one of the few lucky ones. He was released from indefinite detention -- but only because he was ill, Lankford said. He had high blood pressure, diabetes and heart problems before he was diagnosed with lung cancer.

Johnson met him when she began working with the Cuban Detention Project. The effort, begun three years ago by the Political Asylum Project of Austin and the Austin chapter of the National Lawyers Guild, provides representation to aliens in indefinite detention. So far, Johnson said, the Cuban Detention Project has gotten eight Mariel Cubans released from the Bastrop jail by proving that they weren't dangerous to society. Pérez-Ramos was one.

The great thing about Austin, TX is if you want to go downtown on a weekday like Tuesday and catch your local favorite DJ spinning, you can. WhoUFeelin caught up with DJ Notion while he was spinning at Six Lounge in the Tap Room. It was very low key and while there was a total of maybe 25 people in the room, its a very intimate atmosphere there in the Tap Room. I recommend it for anyone wanting to book a private party. Notion span some real hip hop with Tribe Called Quest and had a real heart to heart on his views of the local hip hop scene, booking tours outside of Austin, Tx and being a DJ with aspirations to own a night club someday. WhoUFeelin has been knowing DJ Notion since 07 from his weekly Hip Hop showcases at Karma on Thursdays; now WhoUFeelin is glad to share, help promote, and support DJ Notion's endeavours as a friend and fan. It use to be WhoUFeelin couldn't find beats or instrumentals when looking to network with artist because either the price was ridiculous are the connections were off but now da Bosnian and DJ Notion got a supply for those asking. Man, and to think I almost wasn't going to do a piece and put my two sense in. I just had to do this recap after seeing Tracy Morgan do a parody of political candidates running for office and showcasing his comedic talents while hosting the 2008 Vh1 Hip Hop Honorees, Cypress Hill, Slick Rick, Too Short, and Naughty By Nature. All honorees are artists that I can remember lip singing to when I first got turned on to rap and hip hop. Cypress Hill killed it on stage, to Kill a Man. To all DJs out there, I dare you to mix up some Cypress Hill and Eminem. That would be a hell of a tour ticket, Cypress Hill and Eminem. The lovely Estelle brought an awe presence to the stage, reminding me of Lauren Hill and Mary J Blige. I am really looking forward to hearing a duet with Estelle and Mary J Blige. Bun B was definitely repin Texas and UGK. Too Short on the same concert ticket as Bun B would be insane! I was disappointed that Bushwick Bill wasn't on stage with Scarface. Why didn't the other part of the Ghetto Boys get to make an appearance on stage?
Julez Santana did a perfect recollection of Naughty by Nature's, Everything's gonna be Alright. Jim Jones actually did a great job, too. How many of you true Naughty by Nature fans remember the joint with Queen Lathifa, "Wickedest Man Alive"? Cee Lo did a phenominal job hitting those high notes. Everyone in the crowd threw up there hands up to Hip Hop Hooray, you know some people in the room were feeling O.O.P., how can I explain it:) you see...its just not that simple.

Shout out to the camera men that kept capturing the lovely lady behind B Real & Slick Rick, the dancers were looking fly and the party people were in the crowd.

Ever wondered what to do if you are involved in a fender bender or vehicle accident where no one but the vehicle is injured. Well, WhoUFeelin experienced it first hand, this morning while waiting on the green light at the corner of Oltrof & I-35 Northbound. Sitting in my car I was rear ended only to see the car high tailing it into another lane. Thank God! I wasn't hurt or pushed into another lane. You can call 911 to dispatch a police officer or take matters into your own hands and exchange information, go to any police station to pick up the blue form and submit it. In all, it was a very frightening experience and I am still in a bit in shock and paranoia, but I wanted WhoUFeelin readers to be aware that the blue form is your source of documentation when involved in a driver's accident.

Latin hit banger Armando Perez aka Pitbull, Mr. 305 was in the ATX this past Friday, Sept. 19, 2008 at Paradox night club as headliner for the Hot 93.3 Superstar Showcase.

With a live band set, Pitbull gave an A-list performance, giving the crowd their money's worth.

A blue eyed Cuban, Pitbull, breeds fresh air into the music charts. Often quoted as "Too Latino for HipHop, and too HipHop for Latino". As an artist, I don't think Pitbull cares to fit into a particular genre. As an A-list, performer, Pitbull, is in the industry to a make good music, sell some records, expand his audiences perception, and give the crowd their money's worth. Catching him live at the show there wasn't just one favorite, they were all favorites. Especially "Get Crazy", which most of the ladies in the building got once he entered VIP, signing autographs, blowing kisses, and taking time to take pictures.

* Farnsworth Bentley was in the city this past weekend. Though, WhoUFeelin didn't get the chance to get up close and personal; shout out to Farnsworth for visiting and partying with Austin, Texas.

WhoUFeelin rented Cocaine Cowboys II: Hustlin with the Godmother presented by Magnolia Films. The documentary of Charles Cosby & Griselda Blanco kept it REAL. Narrated by Charles Cosby and other men in Griselda Blanco's life, it's not fair that the audience only gets a male's perspective but you can relate as a scorn woman that's been betrayed. Loyalty before royalty is definitely a code to respect. It is a story of heart ache, pride, and trickery not to be glamorized but told. If you would like to get schooled and enjoy narrations, put it on your list of movies to rent, but please be advised, keep the children in the other room. Charles holds no bar in speaking profanities and Keepin it Real. This piece is more for venting purposes of social injustices observed while walking and attending some venues downtown this weekend. First off, can someone explain the following picture to me?
There are five bike police officers chatting, an obviously drunk man sitting on the sidewalk with handcuffs on, and three police officers mounted on horses. Hello! do you think someone out of all the police officers standing around would be able to escort the man in handcuffs away, or is it that they want to publicly humiliate him? If that was the reasoning for leaving him in plain sight while the police officers stood around and conversed, mission accomplished.

The security at Paradox night club got a little of out of line putting patrons in choke holds as a means to restrain. Do you really think cutting the air supply of an already inebriated person is going to help the situation? It might escalate into a civil litigation lawsuit when the person in the choke hold loses consciousness and possibly dies. Do you really want liability? I suggest rethinking your technique for restraint and OUTLAW the choke hold.

The Greens are currently staying at the Austin Convention Center as survivors of Hurricane Katrina and Ike. WhoUFeelin felt it necessary to re post this story because Mr. Green spoke the very thoughts that many often think but dare not say out of fear of sounding inhumane. Mr. Green reaffirmed that sometimes tragedy hits when you least expect and depending on how quick you are able to recover, if in fact you ever do, your relevance in social class starts to be questioned and noticed. Two weeks ago the Green's were rebuilding their lives after surviving Hurricane Katrina, now they are again rebuilding their lives here in Austin, TX.

Kudos to News 8 Austin for interviewing the Greens and as a note of reference, News 8 Austin will be covering the ACL festival this year, so tune in.

From the lineup to the audience participation, Hot 93.3 got it crunk up at Antone's this past Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008. Paula DeAnda captured stage presence getting the party started and the ladies in the crowd to sing along with her hit single "Easy". Shout out, to her DJ, Chris.

It was a proud moment for WhoUFeelin to get the chance to shake hands and meet Glasses Malone. Haterz, by Glasses Malone stays in heavy rotation on WhoUFeelin's mp3 player, besides anticipating a collaboration with Rob G.

Glasses Malone showed lub to the ATX bringing Pimpin Pen to the stage with him and my girl, Raquel Raquel, as eye candy for the crowd. Glasses Malone is who you should be feeling the next time you call to request a song at your local radio station.

Big Gemini blew the audience away with his energy and that was after Lil Rob performed.

Baby Bash closed down the show without any disappointments. Thank you, Hot 93.3 for staging a great lineup and for allowing WhoUFeelin to be a part of that.

It was a great party with a good turnout. Seeing friends from the past and hopefully future. Ladies were on the dance floor feeling the DJ and Common was in clear view with his crew, drink in hand and smile while he swayed to the beat of the tracks spinning by the DJ. The theme was "Keep It Local".

Mohawk located at 912 Red River is definitely a great venue for a party, www.mohawkaustin.com/events . Along WhoUFeelin's venture from Iron Cactus for some frozen margaritas priced at $7.50 a glass, WhoUFeelin found a new spot to kick it, Mail Box, right next to Spiro's. The lounge was inviting with two pool tables, a fairly large dance floor with mirrors to see yourself, a fully stocked bar, patron counters with bar stools to lean on, and most obviously, its something new to try. Mail Box is officially in business just two weeks open, check it out for yourself. Many locals forget to venture over to Red River with the congestion of the Salvation Army and homeless shelters so close by and the goth punk themed bars that align the alleys but Red River has a few well kept secret promoters that throw great parties with backyard ambiance.

All the way from Wells Branch to William Cannon, I've resided in Austin, TX for the past 6 years. Only until recently, did I break out of my limited comfort zone and get to know a few things, still not completely familiar but getting acquainted. I show love to those that show love, stay away from hateraid, and keep it moving. Always on the wire to hear my favorite DJ's spinning downtown, show support to local artist/rappers, and those just passing through.

I found out about Minnie, a capuchin monkey. Capuchin monkeys are endlessly curious monkeys good with using tools to assist with daily living. Only 104 monkeys helpers like Minnie are found nationwide. With training costing $30,ooo each, there are not enough Capuchin monkey helpers for the 11 million disabled Americans who need daily living assistance.

Craig Cooke (located in picture to the right)
broke his neck 11 years ago in a car accident. Now a paraplegic,
he relies on Minnie to help bring him things around the house.
An organization, Monkey Helpers, based out of Boston has helped Craig Cook become a spokesman for Helping Hands foundation
and given Minnie a loving home. Minnie has a 30 word command vocabulary and can turn on the computer and load Cd's.
Her favorite command is "Give me a high-five."

Texas Heatwave was within the Austin city limits this past weekend 07/20/08 and finally I was able to attend. An expensive event if you decide to attend at last minute, so word to the wise, get your tickets pre-sale for next year’s event. I will say the money was well spent for the spectacular car show they exhibited.

Now I know why it’s the most talked about event in small towns across West Texas and surrounding areas. The venue provides an opportunity for vendors, spectators, performers, and staff to showcase. The event is very organized from a spectators view. The only complaint I had was when a hateful group starting yelling at me and my friend for slightly touching their fugly plain silver mustang, I doubt it had anything to do with us messing up the car up, but more with them hating on my friend attempting to get a poise for a photo. Now I know you invest tons of money to showcase your car, but like all matter on this universe it will eventually get touched!

The CD Release party @ Firehouse Lounge was a success 7/5/08. Thanks to all in attendance and the promoters inside/outside that passed fliers for upcoming shows. BRMG brought out the VIP treatment along with the staff of Firehouse Lounge with reserved seating and champagne bottles. The crowd was crunk and entertained while DJ Protege spun on the turn tables. In attendance were many ATX show liners such as

Baldwin Hills Season 2 has got a new viewer with WhoUFeelin. It proves to be entertaining, full of drama, to school you on the manipulative roles some females play, and insightful on how other previlaged blacks live.. The winning phrase for me on the opening sneak peek was "Not all blacks live in the ghetto". True statement, but until Baldwin Hills, I never got a glimpse into that lifestyle. So kuddos to BET Entertainment for putting the teen drama living rich lifestyles on air for all of America to see.

I cant wait to catch the next eposiode.. Tune in and give MTV's tired ass a break. Those shows have been turning into garbage.. I now tune into VH1, BET and TR3 more than MTV.

Join me as a viewer, you wont be disappointed. Theres a new show on air, Baldwin Hills Season II and its taking the place of The Hills. I dont know about you, but Im tired of seeing how rich white kids live. I want to see more diversity and thats what Deion & Pillar gave reality TV.

Who Watching These Kids?

It's a vicious cycle of abuse and you wonder who is watching these children that eventually will play the role of parent to thier own children some day.

Recently visiting my brother at his ghetto apartment complex which has been robbed and had several break-ins, Sun Park Apartments in San Antonio, TX; I was surprised to see so many unsupervised children roaming freely within the complex. Should a pedophile or criminal want to prey on these unsuspecting children another sad statistic they would become.

Where is the accountability to being a good parent? So often we blame everyone else but the source of endangering that child. It takes a village/community to raise a child and when you have closed doors, see no evil, hear no evil turning the suspecting eye away as a neighbor these children are left without any protection.

Thank God my parents warned me of perverts and had that talk with me at a young age, because so often naive children are tricked into believing they can trust that very person that will eventually cause harm to them. You can get anything you want, its all in the way you ask for it. Its a sad world, but even sadder when there is no where to go for protection.

Take a look around you, the children are the future. What environment will they create when it's their time to shine?

345 people have been arrested and 21 children rescued in what the FBI is calling a five-day roundup of networks of pimps who force children into prostitution.
The Justice Department says it targeted 16 cities as part of its "Operation Cross Country" that caps off five years of similar stings nationwide.
Many of the children forced into prostitution are either runaways or what authorities call "thrown-aways" — kids whose families have shunned them. Officials say they are preyed upon by organized networks of pimps who lure them in with shelter or drugs, then often beat, starve or otherwise abuse them until the children agree to work the streets.
"We together have no higher calling than to protect our children and to safeguard their innocence," FBI Director Robert Mueller said Wednesday. "Yet the sex trafficking of children remains one of the most violent and unforgivable crimes in this country."
In all, authorities arrested 345 people — including 290 adult prostitutes — during the operation that ended this week. Since 2003, 308 pimps and hookers have been convicted in state and federal courts of forcing youngsters into prostitution, and 433 child victims have been rescued, Mueller said.
The cities targeted in this week's sting are: Atlanta; Boston; Dallas; Detroit; Houston; Las Vegas; Los Angeles; Miami; Montgomery County, Md.; Oakland, Calif.; Phoenix; Reno, Nev.; Sacramento, Calif.; Tampa; Toledo, Ohio and Washington.
The problem of child prostitution has taken on a new urgency in recent years with the growth of online networks where pimps advertise the youngsters to clients. The FBI generally investigates child prostitution cases that cross state lines.
The cases aren't easy to convict.
In April 2006, for example, charges against a Nevada man resulted in a hung jury after his 14-year-old victim refused to testify against him. Months later, however, a second jury found Juan Rico Doss of Reno, Nev., guilty of forcing two girls — ages 14 and 16 — to sell sex in Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Francisco and Oakland.
A University of Pennsylvania study estimates nearly 300,000 children in the United States are at risk of being sexually exploited for commercial uses — "most of them runaways or thrown-aways," said Ernie Allen, president of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
"These kids are victims. This is 21st century slavery," Allen said. "They lack the ability to walk away."

BET 2008 Awards Break Down

This year was everything surprising and entertaining at the BET 2008 Awards show, the opener with Usher showed he is no where near retirement as an entertainer and family man. I'm sure those two duties can be demanding, but you'd never know by watching Usher on the stage.

Having Kayne West share the stage with Young Jeezy brought street right through to your TV. You could feel the crowd's energy from watching Young Jeezy and Kanye on the stage, reppin for their cities.

My favorite of the night so far was Alicia Keys taking audience viewers down memory lane with the femme fatales of the early 90's that paved the way for a strong, independant, woman. (SWV, EnVouge & TLC) Was it me.. but didnt Chili look a little nervous on stage..hmmm.

Kayne West gave a memorable acceptance speech bringing Lil Wayne to the stage with him, quoting "HipHop Aint Dead".

Solange and Banner were joined on stage with Cassie, Soulja Boy, delivering a positive message "VOTE", even bringing humor with the building rooting Barack Obama.

He told you.. T-Pain was in the building to accept his award with Kanye West for "Best Collaboration", stating "Two years ago, I couldn't even get a ticket to get in here", image that?.. Now he is accepting awards. You, go boy.

Keisha Cole was joined by Lil Kim on stage and it was quite a site considering Lil Kim is 85% barbie plastic. Did you see them hips?

Florida's presence was definitely seen with ring leader T-Pain showcasing all the latest
break-thru artists from the 305.

Neicy Nash made some bold analogies to celebrity child fostering. From the look on Kanye's face he was wondering, like the rest of us at home, if the writers had that in the script.

Gabrielle Union was looking lovely on stage promoting her new movie, Meet Dave. She brought humorous charm while introducing "Best Group" of the Year , which UGK won. Bun B was definately reppin for Texas. He even gave Pimp C's wife an opportunity to speak on behalf of her late husband. Too bad she didnt move her big head out the way so viewers could see more of Queen, Bun B's wife. She was looking very pretty in a colorful evening gown.

That show Ciria and Chris Brown put all up in your face, I'm sure gave Rhianna some ideas of how to entice her man later this evening.

Giving us a history lesson with the origins of Al Green, Rev. Al Green. Bringing emotion and love with one message "Peace, Love, & Happiness". A well deserved award as Lifetime Achiever.

And where has Maxwell been hiding.. he still performs? Yeah, he showed out following Anthony Hamilton and Jill Scott honoring Rev. Al Green to the stage, with John Legend as presenter.

Aww what a beautiful thing seeing Al Green on the stage, almost as if he never aged or lost that skill to get crowd participation. Even I, at home, was clapping my hands along with the crowd.

Anyways.. P. Diddy need to hurry up and get off stage saying more women need to view Lauren London as a role model and announcing "Let the party, begin".. Where has he been? The party started a long time ago in the building, way before he placed foot on the stage.

So glad Alicia Keyes won that Best Female R&B Artist..she deserved it.

English Speaking, First

Cedar Rapids, June 13, 2008. The levees breach, rivers overflow, and 400 city blocks become immersed with water. Tenants fled apartment buildings, patrons left their margarita glasses at the bar and families fled for higher grounds, but not everyone was rescued. Listening to the correspondents for Univision on Aqui Y Ahora, many Latin and Mexican residents were left behind to fend for their own shelter. Many business and home owners never fearing such natural disaster would ever take place have no insurance policy in place to safeguard their belongings after the floods dry.

Maybe because resources are limited to those that only speak English and have proof of legal citizenship many people that look just like me are being turned away from rescue shelters. Now homeless many Spanish speaking residents of Cedar Rapids are in distress with no place to go for help. Sleeping in cars, eating out of an ice chest, using the bathroom in a cup at night when public restrooms are not at dispose is the reality to some that have fallen between the cracks of humanitarian help.

Just two days before they got up and went to work, bought their own groceries and paid sales taxes just like you and I. One business owner that was interviewed stated the one thing he learned from this crisis is to treat Nature with more care, he feels like its karma on earth’s inhabitants. For the couple living out of their car not welcome at rescue shelters because they do not speak English, the woman says, “God will tighten his grip, but he won’t choke you”.

Next time you drive thru the fast food restaurant or lay down to sleep in your warm bed with shelter from the outside elements, think of those that lost everything in Cedar Rapids.

For those that say racism is an exaggerated excuse that no longer limits minorities or non-English speaking individuals that refuse to learn English for their own good get a load of the facts published by The Home Mortgage Disclosure Act of 1975 that makes it mandatory for lenders to maintain and disclose data in relations to their loans. In recent years HMDA numbers vary wildly across racial lines. Black and Hispanic borrowers are more likely to have a subprime loan than Caucasians.

In fact, in 2006, there was a 36% difference with 53% of blacks having subprime mortgages compared to only 17% for Caucasians. In July 2007, the NAACP filed a lawsuit against 14 lending subprime lenders for practicing “systematic, institutionalized racism in making home mortgages loans.” And for the record those that are thinking” most minorities don’t pay their bills anyway”, while reading this blog, consider that in 2006 the Center for Responsible Lending reported when credit risk was equal, blacks were still 31% to 34% more likely to receive a higher rate than Caucasians.

It’s NOT a fair world we live in and affirmative action doesn’t make it an easy environment to prove your skills without regard to quota. I am not saying it IS or IS NOT still needed considering the latest lawsuit filed against NASCAR by former aspiring racing official, Mauricia Grant.

In the lawsuit, Grant said she complained numerous times to her supervisors about how she was treated, to no avail. On one occasion, Grant said Nationwide Series director Joe Balash, her immediate supervisor, was dismissive of her complaints, explaining her co-workers were "former military guys" with a rough sense of humor. "You just have to deal with it," she says Balash told her.

The lawsuit details a series of those alleged incidents:
• Grant was forced to work outside more often than the white male officials because her supervisors believed she couldn't sunburn because she was black.
• While riding in the backseat of her car pool at Talladega Superspeedway, co-workers told her to duck as they passed race fans. "I don't want to start a riot when these fans see a black woman in my car," she claims one official said.
• When packing up a dark garage at Texas Motor Speedway an official told Grant: "Keep smiling and pop your eyes out 'cause we can't see you."
• When she ignored advances from co-workers, Grant was accused of being gay. She also claimed co-workers questioned the sexual orientation of two other female officials.
After her termination, Grant said she went over her notes and recognized "a pattern of retaliation and discrimination."
"It didn't diminish my love for the sport of auto racing, but the job wasn't always the easiest thing to go to every day," she said.

Lets just hope Mauricia Grant gets her fair day in court in our unfair world. Will the balance of the scales be in her favor? Note: Laughing at racist jokes only imples that the humor is acceptable and it is NOT; its offensive.

Survey says Hispanic teens try drugs, suicide at higher rates, but maybe you never heard about this before because until this morning when the report was released by Associated Press no one cared to discuss the findings. The finding comes from a CDC survey of about 14,000 U.S. high school students that has been conducted every other year since 1991. Results reported Thursday were from last year's survey say higher rates of risk-taking by Hispanics in several areas. One example: About 10 to 11 percent of Hispanic students said they attempted suicide, compared with around 7 percent of whites and 8 percent of blacks.
However, whites reported the highest rates of smoking and heavy drinking, while blacks reported the highest rates of obesity, violence and sexual activity.
One striking behavior in which blacks fared the worst was television watching.
The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends no more than two hours of daily TV viewing a day for kids. Physical activity is needed to develop mental and social skills and help prevent obesity, and TV violence has been associated with more aggressive behavior in children who watch a lot of it.
The study is the latest in a series of surveys of U.S. high school students every two years. The new report noted black and white students are reporting less sexual activity that in years past, but there was no decline among Hispanics. Experts have not been able to find a clear explanation for that.
In addition, Hispanic students were more likely that either blacks or whites to attempt suicide, ride with a driver who had been drinking alcohol, or use cocaine, heroin or ecstasy.
Hispanics also most often drank alcohol on school property, were offered or sold illegal drugs, and occasionally skipped school because they feared for their safety.
The school environments many Hispanics face may differ considerably from what many blacks or whites encounter, noted Wechsler, director of the CDC's Division of Adolescent and School Health.

My prayers go out to those doing time. Incarceration tears families apart, but you do the crime and eventually you will do the time. What concerns me is the rate at which juveniles enter the penal system, when more prisons are being built than schools or after school programs within the community. Kuddos to two Houston rappers, Trae and Slim Thug for taking time out of their busy schedules to kick it with Texas Throwaways in the Clemens Unit. As one inmate observed the concert brought unity among inmates that typically don't associate with one another because of ethnic orientation.

Who U Feelin: Cyndi Lauper

Now at 29 hitting 30 it’s been way over due I pay homage to a woman that taught me so much about being a woman in a male dominated society. All in one song, while I'm sure she was just seeking a hit in the 1980’s, she sang an anthem for the rest of us girls/women. The anthem I am talking about is “Girls Just Want to have Fun” by Cyndi Lauper. Don't feel isolated in thinking her erratic sense of style has little in common with yourself, but hear the lyrics and a familar tune lurks searching to be vocalized. The freedom to be who I am and just have fun when I want. If boys can be boys, then we girls should be us girls. The double standard of being a girl concerned me little while trying to extend my curfew growing up in a conservative town where gossip travels fast at the local Wal-Mart and Sonic drive- in; all I wanted was to be free to do as I please and have fun doing so. It's true, “some men take a beautiful girl and hide her away from the rest of the world”, quoted from her song. My interpretation was to stay away from dominating and possessive men because they destroy your self esteem and you never know your full potential if the only thing you know straight out of high school is homemaking, rearing children and serving a spouse. Being a wife with children at a young age was not the way I envisioned my destiny. “So what if the phone rings in the middle of the night”, is what I thought. It wasn’t until my father explained to me boys don’t call after a certain hour if they have respect for you that I understood a girl/woman sets the standard for the way she wants to be treated; now of course that doesn’t mean there aren’t times when you just go with the flow and lower your inhibitions. So what did I learn from “Girls Just Want to Have Fun”, we woman/girls seek to occasionally break free from the roles imposed upon us whether they be social, religious, family upbringings, or double standard.
